Hi Tennis Enthusiasts!

We are Bob and Hiroko Ray. We started Rayco in 1969 as the wholesale mail order division of Ray's Tennis. At that time we were giving tennis lessons and operating the Pro shop at San Diego's largest (25 courts) public facility, the Balboa Tennis Club at Morley Field.

In 1979 we outgrew the Pro Shop and moved to our current location at 1436 University Ave. The larger display area permitted rapid expansion of the business and allowed us to give up teaching and devote our full time to Rayco.

In August 1993 a fire destroyed most of the store and inventory. While it was a major loss, it forced us to build a modern and attractive store at the same sight. While we are just a mom and pop family business, we are also, ONE OF THE LARGEST TENNIS SPECIALTY STORES IN THE WORLD. Our sales volume and buying power permit great selection and low prices
